There are different rules...Those people are morons. There are different rules when you hold an event at the state capitol than in a downtown city park. For starters, anything that could be remotely construed as a weapon is always prohibited on the state capitol grounds. That's not discrimination against the Tea Party, it's due entirely to the difference in venues. If they actually had a lawyer with experience litigating first amendment advising them, I'm sure that lawyer would have explained that the restriction on sticks at the state capitol is a reasonable "time, place, manner" restriction that is content neutral.
