Erick Chooses A Side

The Republican civil war is hottin' up.

Erick Erickson, best known in these parts as grand poobah of Peach Pundit but better known nationally for the Republican red meat site Red State, chooses to be Nixonian.
We're tracking down all the people from the McCain campaign now whispering smears against Governor Palin to Carl Cameron and others.
Only 48 hours after the historic election, some are still so deep into delusion, they appear unable to fathom the reality that Americans actually rejected the Hannity-Malkin-Hewitt playbook of division through fear.

Ah, the return of the almighty Enemies List. Really, it's just another step toward an inevitable schism in the Republican party that separates the latter day Neo-Cons from the classic Conservatives.

Is it a smear if it's true?

Michelle Malkin's "accountability project" euphemism for a good ol' fashioned witchhunt may be the funniest thing I've read all week.

Here is a list of blogs I think are marginalizing themselves with paranoid behavior:

1) RedState

I'n gonna, like, go to war with them or something if they ever become relevant again.

Protecting Palin by creating an enemies list is not the way to be sure the best candidate is in place in 2012.

Conservatives believe ion the best candidate, not the one who appears to be the best.

You get the best candidate through a sober and realistic evaluation, not by coddling and idol worship.

Fuck it. I'm going to war. The one things those bastards are very good at is saturating every bit of media with their twisted messages. The moderate Republicans deserve to have every blade available in this knife fight.
