A Proud Day At Peach Pundit

I don't normally pick on commentors. In fact, I chastised Athen Banner Herald Editor Jim Thompson for this very behavior. But sometimes something sticks out so badly that it must be noted

This morning Erick screeched against Sen. Johnny Isakson's support of the "Serve America Act". Apparently he and other right wing luminaries such as Mark Levin believe this dastardly piece of legislation (co-sponsored by that damned liberal Orrin Hatch) would force the chilluns into mandatory government service. (Can someone find me in the act where it's compulsory because I can find it no where).

Of course, this type of paranoid lunacy is exactly the type of bone on which the neo-confederates and wackos gnaw to the marrow.

Samples of the deep thought generated by this type of crazy.

"Seems like the Hitler youth. Will they be pledging allegiance to Obama every morning, before their forced (labor) charity?"

""Serve America Act,” Apply it only to minorities and life long agricultural work, and I might support it"

"This stuff is so creepy; all of you who have children better guard them well"

Democrats are giggling by the pool-side while those who call themselves Republicans dive straight into the deep end of crazy and hold their breath until the world is right again.

I thought the "apply it only to minorities and agriculture" comment was more of a dig at another commenter than actual sentiment, but I could be wrong.

I have yet to see any sections of the bill quoted that actually allude to "forced" service. Where can it be found?

I've had my kid in a program that teaches 'em how to best serve me my gin & tonic by that sparkling pool for years now. They train-up real fast at about 6. When I'm tired of sunning and fishing dopes out of the deep end, there's also a program for teaching 'em how to cook and clean house too. It will all scale beautifully when they're older and forced into all those service labor camps which I can then no doubt contract with for some pool maintenance charity work. Clean up America!

Dems are giggling at most of the thing the Permanent Minority Party has been doing lately. This civil war battle is among the more tame.

Sometimes I read a blog and wonder if they read the same article, post or bill that I read. In this case, I have to wonder what bill Erick read.

@Progresive Peach Re: "Permanent Minority Party"... that is the same kind of arrogance that got the GOP where they are now.... that said....keep it up, please.

You also have to wonder when someone writes an opinion piece that the base is getting riled up over something, and the only evidence that is given is a link to an opinion piece on another blog that he/she also happens to manage.
