Do You Want Us To Win?

It's a question Lynne Cheney asked Wolf Blitzer last week. It's the type of "when did you stop beating your dog question" that those with no argument use. Bill O'Reilly used it on Letterman.

Thinking this morning about my favorite football team and their horrible 4-4 record, I came up with a simple and effective answer.

Of course I want FSU to win. I want us to win every time. I want us to win by a huge margin. But that doesn't blind me to the fact that right now we are not winning. And doesn't that mean we have to make a change? Shouldn't we try something new?


Now substitute "the U.S." for FSU.
