Travesty

Today the nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame were announced and once again the greatest cultural influence Canada has ever produced was ignored.

Until Rush is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, all else is travesty.

Politics returns shortly.

Respectfully, Rush makes my skin crawl. I think it's the vocals.

Perhaps if Rush to get their lobbyist to sleep with the right committee chair at the Hall of Fame...

Genesis! WTF? Absolutely Rush should be in the Hall with their 24 Gold and 14 Platinum albums...but to me the real travesty is that Alice Cooper is still on the outside looking in. Just go by the Hall's own criteria for Alice: Popularity? Check. Longevity? Check. Influence? MASSIVE check.

Geddy Lee's finest hour is still the 12 Days of Christmas with Bob & Doug MacKenzie... Man that Jew can play!

I thought Rush WAS political. Aren't they all Randian Objectivists?

Agreed, though, that they ought to be in the hall already.

Oh, please. You think Rush has had more cultural impact than Paul Shaffer or Dan Akroyd?

You're assuming that this is an honor that Rush would seek. Hell, even the Sex Pistols saw thru the nomination committee bullshit and sent a missive about it.

In a perfect universe, Rush would have been inducted sheerly for "2112" long before ABBA.
