The Sound of Moderates Fleeing

Joe Gandelman of The Moderate Voice says,
The reaction to Obama on the part of some of his partisan foes is now making Bush derangement syndrome look like a hot and heavy Dawson’s Creek romance
Our own Erick "The Witches Hammer" Erickson calls Joe Wilson, he who screamed "you lie" during the President's speech, a great American hero.

As I told someone recently, even if I agree with you on an ideological point, it's hard being on your side when you act like an utter jackass.

For me, it's hard to believe that all the angst from the past month is about to be completely reset by one speech and a singular, ignorant display of disrespect by a inconsequential congressman from South Carolina.

Jmac, you were right all along. It is apparent the only intention of this Republican party is the destruction of this Presidency. Democrats should just pass the legislation and declare victory.

Even if one disagrees with the powers that be, there is no alternative. For the opposition have shown they do not possess the maturity to lead.

Very frustrating to see Republicans fail, when Democrats have opened the door wide open for success on this issue.

Many in the GOP will honor Wilson because heckling Obama has become their entire platform. It's the party of shrieking anger.

Communist
Fascist
Socialist
Government takeover
Hitler
Kenyan
Muslim

That's all they have at this point.

It's sad. I kinda liked the two-party system.

Several friends and political chums have been debating if this is what splits off the radical fringe of the GOP into their own party, letting the old Republican party emerge?

I think of the Mid-western Chuck Hagel crowd, or do they all become the White Anglo Male Southern regional party with no Congressional clout?

I suspect that the Chamber of Commerce crowd can't be happy with the Swiftboatbirthbaggers for much longer.

However the passion is quite strong with that crowd and as we've seen it's not easily ignored.

So, is there anyone who can bridge that gap and pull them together? if not they will get to live the 90's like Dems did when we couldn't pull it together.

I'm just saying..

As my mama, resident of South Carolina and constituent of above referenced douchebag, says: "If I was that disrespectful when someone else was speaking, whether it was the President or the dog catcher, your Grandmother would have beat my tail (and I mean now at the tender age of 53)."

Why do I have to be labled a moderate just because I'm sane?

Perfectly said. I'm utterly embarrassed by the state of the Republican party.

Great observation, Andisheh. I assume Wilson will be a Fox News fixture.

The neo-cons---who are neither new nor conservative---under direction of Der Fuehrer Karl, took over the Republican Party, and drove the normal people out, as they attracted the self-centered me-first boobah-brained crowd in. Now, the Republican Party has become entirely the haven for UnAmerican thought and misbehavior.

Most of the money changers---not to be left homeless---have infested the Democratic Party, thus driving most Democrats out. Those of Us who remain concerned about restoring OUR country to its Constitutional glory, are now "independent"s, and ignored by the big-business media.

Forecast: More three-year-old behavior tantrums to come! [May I be wrong!]

Grift, An element within the GOP aren't going after the Presidency, it's going after Obama. The issue is that damage or destruction to the Presidency is merely collateral damage.
