Smoke In South Georgia

Yes, we've had a few days of smoke in Atlanta but the above is a picture a friend sent from Valdosta. The smoke and ash in the area is so prevalent school children have not been able to leave buildings for days at a time. Just a little perspective next time you smell smoke in the air.

As my eyes were watering way up here the other day from smoke, the thought of what in the world could it be like at the source crossed my mind. Now we know. I mean, I love hanging out in smoke-filled skanky bars for a couple of hours every other week or so, but I sure don't ever want to wake up in one. I feel for those S. Georgia kids, especially with the ones with dubious parents who can't send their kids outside to play now that school's out. We should have extra DFACS workers down there too -- but I'm sure anything resembling funding to protect children was slashed long, long ago too.

Grayson, not to be overly sensitive, or sensitive at all, but why the extra DFACS down this way?

Well Sid, you know how crackers can get with six weeks of smoke filling up the trailer.
