Day 7: The McKinney Siege Ends?

Rep. McKinney has apologized on the floor of the House.

It sounds sincere. I will now open book on how long before the Cap Police drop the charges.

Is this the end? Can it be? While the constituents of 4th Georgia can smile now that sunshine has broken through the clouds, bloggers everywhere are in despair over the end of the feast and frenzy.

UPDATE: Right leaning blogger Joe Weedon has an interesting opinion on how this entire idiocy hurts both side.

She says “There should not have been any physical contact in this incident,” McKinney said in brief remarks on the House floor. “I am sorry that this misunderstanding happened at all and I regret its escalation and I apologize.”

So really she is not apologizing for striking the police office b/c physical contact should not have happened - on either side. Meaning he shouldn't have grabbed her to begin with. SHe only seems to be apologizing because the incident was escalated.

Even in apologizing she doesn't really apologize.
