A Forward Looking Politician

While the old school power structure in Georgia politics seems to struggle with net activists and grassroots organizations, Florida Republican candidate for Governor Charlie Crist seems to have a handle on the future.

Charlie Crist has announced the first in a series of online chats with
grassroots supporters at 7 p.m. on May 18. The campaign web site, http://www.charliecrist.com/, includes a link to
the online meetup.

Good for him. Mr. Kahn? Are you paying attention?

a) The "online chat" Crist is talking about is actually a conference call, not a text chat like it leads you to believe.

b) Jim Davis, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination has already done two real online chats. This is a really great idea for candidates and worked very well for Davis.

Really. That I did not know. I will definitely follow up on that. If Davis has done so, I will certainly give him credit. It really is a great idea.

You can see the write ups here and here.

Thanks for the tip. Look for a follow up post later today. To be honest, I've been so entranced with the Katherine Harris debacle that I am just now catching up on the governor's race.
